Each week I’m going to write a weekly post summarising the notable projects and singles that released during the week. I’m planning on doing this on the same day each week, probably on the Friday before the wave of Friday albums drop, so each post will cover the previous Friday-Thursday.
I’m doing this mainly so I can come back to them in the future and see when certain things dropped, but also hope to help others catch some fresh music that you may have missed. I’ll include some links to any reviews I’ve done on the projects, streaming services to listen to them, and anything else that may be relevant. Enjoy!

My Thoughts On The Week
Overall I felt like this was a really strong week, maybe not in terms of albums, but certainly in terms of quality singles being released. In relation to albums, I feel like this week only had one real notable drop in the Denzel Curry x Kenny Beats collab UNLOCKED, and album I thoroughly enjoyed. There were also a couple of releases from b/c tier artists such as Boldy James and Pop Smoke, 2 artists I’ve never considered myself a fan of. Finally, there were a couple of mixtapes dropped later in the week by both Wiz Khalifa and Lil B, both of which I can see myself coming back to during a quiet week in the future.
As mentioned earlier, where these week shone was the quantity and quality of singles released. Bieber had an enjoyable single with Quavo titled ‘Intentions‘ in the lead up to his upcoming album; Meek Mill enlisted Justin Timberlake for an amazing feature on the all round amazing song ‘Believe’; we saw the release of a couple of enjoyable singles from DaBaby & Trippie Redd x Young Thug, titled ‘Shut Up’ & ‘Yell Oh’ respectively. This last week also saw a bunch of quality features from artists on tracks by lesser known artists; Tech N9ne had an impressive feature on the dubstep song ‘Insane’ by Apashe; Sada Baby was at his best on the song ‘Percs’ by OG Louie The XIII, Tierra Whack added a welcome rap touch to the strange indie/alternative track ‘Copycat’ by Melanie Martinez; and Lil Durk had some amazing chemistry with Trav on his track ‘Real Nigga Party’. Perhaps my favourite song of the week though was the Boogie assisted track ‘Bellin’ by Jake One & Jay Worthy, a Track with this intriguing atmospheric production and exceptional verses from both Jay Worthy & Boogie.
So just based off of that alone, this week was certainly jam packed full of enjoyable tracks. And just to note, I didn’t check out the tracks by Blueface, Royce Da 5’9, Yung Gravy & Youngboy Never Broke Again as they all have upcoming albums I don’t want to spoil by being familiar with too many songs prior. My Favourite Songs of the week were ‘Bellin’ by Jay Worthy and Jake One, ‘Believe’ by Meek Mill, ‘Run’ by Joji, ‘Broke In A Minute’ by Tory Lanez, ‘Real Nigga Party’ by Trav, & ‘Bet Up’ by Lil Gotit. The songs that disappointed me the most this week were the Nicki Minaj single ‘Yikes’ and the Mick Jenkins assisted single ‘Seeds’ by Time (which can also be a pain to find). I also wasn’t a big fan of the new Calboy track, the new Lil Tecca track, the SOSAB and Erick The Arcitect collab, the Khoga x Playboi Carti collab, & the 24hrs track 911 with K Swisha & Wiz Khalifa.
What were your favourite songs of the last week?
Was there anything notable which I seem to have missed?
Thanks For Reading!
