Hey all!
Each week I’m going to write a weekly post summarising the notable projects and singles that released during the week. I’m planning on doing this on the same day each week, probably on the Friday before the wave of Friday albums drop, so each post will cover the previous Friday-Thursday.
I’m doing this mainly so I can come back to them in the future and see when certain things dropped, but also hope to help others catch some fresh music that you may have missed. I’ll include some links to any reviews I’ve done on the projects, streaming services to listen to them, and anything else that may be relevant. Enjoy!

My Thoughts On The Week
Overall I felt like this was actually a super strong week, and possibly the best week of February so far! I was worried that everyone was going hard in January to make their mark at the start of the decade/year, and therefore it’d be the strongest month of the year by far, but February is shaping up to be just as strong in terms of both albums and random loose tracks.
Starting with projects, this week was super solid, with a total of 7 notable projects all of which have had generally good receptions. Trippie Redd dropped the deluxe edition of his most recent mixtape, supplying us with a few more solid bops for the playlist; one of my favourite female rappers Kodie Shane released her BLOOMING, VOL. 1 EP, which is packed full of some thoroughly enjoyable mellow vibes throughout; and Youngboy Never Broke Again gave us his ‘Still Flexin, Still Steppin’ mixtape, which although I didn’t like personally is undoubtedly a great addition to an already impressive discography. The big surprise for me this week though was the mixtape ‘Superstar Creature’ by Lil Gotit, with some consistently crisp production, catchy hooks, and great verses throughout it was unexpectedly my project of the week. I still haven’t peeped the Royce Da 5’9 album or the Young Nudy mixtape ‘Anyways’, both of which I’m sure to enjoy to a certain extent.
This week was also an enjoyable release in terms of the random tracks and singles released, with a lot of notable releases which are high quality for the most part. Aminè made his return with a thoroughly enjoyable track and music video for ‘Shimmy; JPEGMafia surprised us with the exciting loosie ‘BALD!’; OMB Peezy continues to impress me with another solid single in ‘Let Up’; and Kyle linked up with K Camp and Lil Yachty to deliver us a fun and upbeat banger in ‘YES!’. Some releases really surprised me this week too, Yung Mal impressed me with the hard hitting and quite hilarious ‘Bachelor’; G Herbo enlisted Jacquees for hook duty on the incredible impressive single ‘Shooter; UnotheActivist dropper my favourite song of his ever, ‘Cant Go’ with Ty Dolla Sign; and ‘Open House’ by Street Bud & Quavo was an extremely fun banger akin to early Rae Sremmurd, a great first impression from Street Bud. And finally we got a couple of real solid remixes this week, with the first being the soothing and enjoyable remix of ‘Roxanne’ by Arizona Zervas, which features a super pleasant Swae Lee verse; and the second being a remix of 100 Gecs ‘Ringtone’, which incorporates some suitable and impressive features from Charli xcx, Rico Nasty, & Kero Kero Bonito.
The only song on the above list I wasn’t really a fan of were the 2 Injury Reserve loosies and the Blacc Zacc & Moneybagg Yo collab. So yeah! Lots and lots of good music came out in the last week, easily one of the best overall weeks so far this year. Next week should be exciting too with albums from Lil Baby and G Herbo at least.
What were your favourite songs from this last week?
Is there anything notable that dropped this week that I seem to have missed?
Thanks For Reading!
