Hey hey!
Each week I’m going to write a weekly post summarising the notable projects and singles that released during the week. I’m planning on doing this on the same day each week, probably on the Friday before the wave of Friday albums drop, so each post will cover the previous Friday-Thursday.
I’m doing this mainly so I can come back to them in the future and see when certain things dropped, but also hope to help others catch some fresh music that you may have missed. I’ll include some links to any reviews I’ve done on the projects, streaming services to listen to them, and anything else that may be relevant. Enjoy!

Final Notes
Overall I felt this was a real average week in every way. There wasn’t a lack of releases, but the quality certainly wasn’t the best. I celebrated my birthday this last week so didn’t get the chance to listen through any albums, but honestly none of the new releases really interested me anyway. I’m not a big Weeknd fan and his was the only big album of the week; and Mac Miller’s deluxe ‘Circles’ only added 2 tracks. I’ll probably listen to the Sada Baby and Money Man albums eventually, but still this was quite a weak week for projects.
There were a lot of singles this week but I was let down by a lot of them unfortunately. I thought both of the Run The Jewels tracks were disappointing, with ‘Ooh La La’ having a bad hook & ‘Yankee & The Brave’ being a little too abrasive for my liking. I also thought the 2 new Mick Jenkins tracks were of a lower quality than his usual output, & that the JPEGMAFIA Track ‘Covered In Money’ was nowhere near as enjoyable as his song ‘BALD!’ that dropped earlier this year. I was also let down by Tee Grizzley, Tory Lanez, YBN Nahmir, Kap G & Audio Push, among others; so that alone makes this a pretty sad week.
Among the sea of trash there were some great tracks. I loved the mix of genres on the new Floozies song ‘Till Gone Day’ with a killer verse from Tech N9ne. I enjoyed both of the efforts from Guapdad4000; his solo banger ‘Platinum Falcon’ and his fun collaboration with Wale & Young Chris titled ‘Ryu & Ken’. I felt like the Roddy Ricch assisted ‘Walk Em Down’ by NLE Choppa was one of his best songs so far. I thoroughly enjoyed the contrast between Phresher’s raspy voice and A Boogie’s pleasant melodic delivery on their collaboration ‘Point Em Out’. Clairmont the Second’s latest single ‘Dun’ has one of my favourite beats of the year so far and a great video to match. I also enjoyed both of the new tracks from Snow Tha Product, Wiz Khalifa’s banger ‘Contact’, and BlocBoy JB’s new bop ‘Swervin’.
Everything I didn’t mention is just average or I’m on the fence about it, but overall it certainly felt like one of the weakest weeks of the year so far. With a lack of big name albums and quality singles this week just felt slow compared to most.
What were your favourite songs and projects of the week?
Is there anything decent that I seem to have missed?
Thanks For Reading!
