Once again we had a crazy month full of great album releases and impressive singles/loosies. As a result I’ll be doing a similar thing to the last 2 months and splitting my favourites into 2 separate lists; one will be my favourite songs from the albums I listened to, and the other will be my favourite non-album tracks. My Thoughts On The Month
I felt like this was yet another solid month, easily as good as the first too months and possible even better. My favourite projects of the month were Rich The Kids ‘BOSS MAN’ and Krizz Kaliko’s ‘Eternal EP’, closely followed by the 2 Lil Uzi projects. There were projects that were worse than I was expecting, most notably Megan Thee Stallions ‘Suga’ and Jay Electronica’s ‘A Written Testimony’. Some such as CJ Fly’s ‘RUDEBWOY’ and Don Toliver’s ‘Heaven Or Hell’ were pretty much what I was expecting (average with a couple highlights). And there were another couple that exceeded my expectations, including Blueface’s ‘Find The Beat’ & Juelz Santana’s ‘#FREESANTANA’. So over lots of albums released in March, many of which are worth a listen at the very least!
There were also a lot of good loosies released in March, and I actually think it’s the best month so far in that respect. I had about 50 songs I really enjoyed so picking my top 25 was a struggle. In my opinion the ‘Best Of The Best’ were ‘Tempo’ by Smino. ‘Rain’ by British rappers Aitch & Aj Tracey, BlocBoy JB’s banger ‘Swervin’, & ‘Walk Em Down’ which is possibly my favourite NLE Choppa single ever. I thoroughly enjoyed every single in my top 25 plus a whole lot of others. Special shoutout to ‘Apashe – Work (ft. Young Buck)’ which is possibly my favourite song of the year; it dropped at the very end of February so didn’t make my February list and didn’t qualify for this list, and worst of all it is no longer on streaming services.
An amazing month and a fantastic end to the first quarter of 2020!
