Each week I’m going to write a weekly post summarising the notable projects and singles that released during the week. I’m planning on doing this on the same day each week, probably on the Friday before the wave of Friday albums drop, so each post will cover the previous Friday-Thursday.
I’m doing this mainly so I can come back to them in the future and see when certain things dropped, but also hope to help others catch some fresh music that you may have missed. I’ll include some links to any reviews I’ve done on the projects, streaming services to listen to them, and anything else that may be relevant. Enjoy!

My Thoughts On The Week
Yet another solid week to keep 2020 on the track to being one of the best years in recent memory. Was far from being the best week this year, but still had a couple of notable albums and a bunch of enjoyable singles.
In terms of projects it was an interesting week for me personally with 8-9 projects dropping that piqued my interest, but none that I was hyped enough for that I was in a rush to listen to them. I instead spent the week catching up on other projects I’d missed earlier in the year, but regardless of that there was still a fair share of notable projects. The Weeknd added a few more songs to his recent ‘After Hours’ album, PARTYNEXTDOOR dropped the presumably smooth ‘PARTYMOBILE’, and after a rollout that felt like forever Joyner Lucas dropped his ‘ADHD’ album. We got new projects from up and coming rappers such as Comethazine and 42 Dugg with ‘Pandemic’ & ‘Young & Turnt, Vol. 2’ respectively, and also got a couple of fresh projects from some old school favourites, with Jeezy dropping ‘Twenty/20 Pyrex Vision’ and Wrekonize dropping ‘Pressure Point Meridian’. So overall a fairly stacked week, just nothing I’ve gotten the chance to listen to yet.
I have however listened to all the non-album tracks that dropped, and there were a lot I enjoyed! Although it’s a cliche TikTok hit I really enjoyed the Tyga version of ‘Bored In The House’. And despite how poppy it is, I also loved Tyga on his collaboration with Kygo & singer Zara Larsson, titled ‘Like It Is’. There were a couple of songs from producers that I thought were generic but super catchy and enjoyable nonetheless; the first being Murda Beatz’ ‘Banana Split’ with YNW Melly & Lil Durk, and the second being Rvssian’s ‘Only The Team’ which features Lil TJay and Lil Mosey. We got some good solo tracks from Tory Lanez, Guapdad 4000 & Jay Critch In ‘Do The Most’, ‘Dolce & Gabbana Dalai Lama’ & ‘Hoes Fav’ respectively. And Asher Roth made his impressive return to the scene with an album announcement along with the calming title track ‘Flowers On The Weekend’. My favourite song though is one by an artist I’ve never heard before, ‘Overdue’ by Mansuki featuring rapper Twista. It has some poppy but incredibly likeable singing from Mansuki as well as a ridiculous verse from Twista, check this one out!
What were your favourite songs of the week?
Which of the weeks projects are worth a listen?
Is there anything good that I seem to have missed?
Thanks for reading!
