Each week I’m going to write a weekly post summarising the notable projects and singles that released during the week. I’ll include projects by notable artists and projects that pique my interest due to high profile features or strong singles; and I’ll include singles by any artists on my radar as well as singles with quality features from notable artists and songs by lesser known rappers that I enjoyed throughout the week.
I’m planning on doing this on the same day each week, probably on the Friday before the wave of Friday albums drop, so each post will cover the previous Friday-Thursday. This post may come later due to other things taking priority, but will still only cover a one-week period.
I’m doing this mainly so I can come back to them in the future and see when certain things dropped, but also hope to help others catch some fresh music that you may have missed. I’ll include some links to any reviews I’ve done on the projects, streaming services to listen to them, and anything else that may be relevant. Enjoy!

Overall I felt like this was a fairly weak week in every aspect, with not a lot of notable singles or albums being released. As always there were lots of releases if you searched, but almost everything I checked out was disappointing. To be fair I haven’t checked out any of these weeks projects but based on the past efforts of the artists who dropped I doubt I missed anything too amazing.
The main projects which piqued my interest were the Lil TJay and Lil Durk albums, both of which I imagine will be a mix of hits and misses. XV and E-40 both released short EP’s which I’ll check out alongside the other EP’s from this quarter later this month. Terror Reid dropped his ‘Hot Vodka’ album which has potential based off the Pouya assisted Outlawz which I checked on a whim and loved. The surprise of the week was an album called ‘No Socks’ by an artist I’m unfamiliar with named Cash Kidd; which originally grabbed my interest with the amazingly catchy ‘Verified’ and continued to impress me with the hilarious ‘Kidnapper’ and the Sada Baby assisted ‘Unappreciated’. Possibly the biggest dropped of the week were 2 albums from the Brown Boy himself Nav, which don’t interest me in the slightest.
There weren’t many singles from big name artists this week, but as always there were a few gems both from mainstream rappers and unknown rappers alike. The best solo tracks of the week came from Moneybagg Yo who dropped ‘Me vs Me’ to build hype for the deluxe version of his ‘Time Served (Deluxe)’ album, Migos’ new single ‘Racks 2 Skinny’ which is one of their best singles in a hot minute, and ‘Get Down’ from one of my favourite new artists Quando Rondo. There were some great collaborations this week; Slowthai came together with producer Kenny Beats for a banger in ‘Magic’, OMB Bloodbath and Maxo Kream linked up for the atmospheric ‘Dropout’, Joell Ortiz & Kxng Crooked flexed their lyrical talents on ‘H.A.R.D’, & producers Southside and TM88 enlisted Young Thug, Future & Moneybagg Yo for the catchy ‘Blue Jean Bandits’. I loved Gunna’s feature on A.Chal’s ‘Hollywood Love’, thought Rico Nasty was the standout on IDK’s ridiculously stacked posse cut ‘495’, and felt like both Lil Yachty & NLE Choppa were great additions to the Mak Sauce bop ‘Good Morning’. Headie One impressed me for the first time with ‘Rose Gold’, and Innanet James impressed me yet again with his feature on the super chill ‘Nothin But Time (remix)’ by MK Zulu.
So In the end it was an okay week if you look at the positives, but in comparison to other weeks this year it seemed lacking! I might change my opinion a bit if any of the projects I end up peeping surprise me, but for now it was just a mediocre week overall.
What were your favourite songs of last week?
Is there anything notable I seem to have missed?
Are any of the above projects worth a listen?
Thanks For Reading!
